Extension Gallery

Matrix42’s Extension Gallery is the built‑in frontend “app store” for the Matrix42 Enterprise Service Management (ESM) environment, providing a central place to discover, install, and update extensions and apps that adapt standard solutions to customer‑specific requirements. Extensions are offered by Matrix42, certified partners, and the community, and are available directly from within the product UI, so ESM administrators can use guided, one‑click installation flows instead of manual package handling.

Once an ESM environment is connected, administrators can browse extensions via the Extension Gallery navigation item, search by name, filter by categories such as Matrix42 extensions or certified partner extensions, and open detail pages with descriptions, screenshots, and reviews. Installation is supported by a wizard that evaluates automatic and manual prerequisites, installs dependent extensions in the correct order, and executes the installation with logging and error handling, enabling reliable rollout across multiple environments.

The Extension Gallery Web Portal provides an entry point for community developers who want to create and publish their first control or extension, allowing them to on‑board into the ecosystem without complex setup. From there, contributors can turn their solutions into community extensions that appear in the Extension Gallery, enriching the catalog for all customers and enabling collaborative innovation between Matrix42, partners, and users.

DevOps Portal as backend service

The Matrix42 DevOps Portal is the backend counterpart to the Extension Gallery and provides the services needed to build, test, publish, and deploy ESM extensions, which are technically handled as configuration packages. Every uploaded build of an extension becomes a versioned release in the DevOps Portal, and owners, managers, or publishers can manage these releases, upload signed Configuration Packages, and control which versions are published to the Extension Gallery.

DevOps‑driven lifecycle and publishing

Matrix42 DevOps Services enable a consistent product lifecycle for extensions, from CI/CD builds through staged publishing and analytics, and they are free to use for anyone with a Matrix42 Cloud Account. When publishing, vendors define the visibility of each release—private to contributors, restricted to members of a specific vendor, or publicly available—so that extensions appear in the Extension Gallery only for the intended audience and can later be upgraded in visibility or status (for example, from community to non‑community release).

Benefits and getting started

Using Extension Gallery and DevOps Services accelerates rollouts, improves collaboration between development and operations, and provides analytics on extension usage and potential issues, thereby increasing customer value and governance over the extension landscape. New users can start by trying published ESM extensions via the Extension Gallery or by building and publishing their first community extension following the documented learning paths for partners and customers, which guide them through setup, build, publish, and analytics.
