Overview Inventory Configuration
With the Inventory Configuration it is possible to configure Empirum Inventory via an interface in the Empirum Management Console.
An unlimited number of configurations can be saved and edited. There is an individually customizable configuration available for each operating system. Furthermore, there is the possibility of setting entries to inactive, without having to delete them. This eases the quick testing of various settings.
The configurations are saved directly into the Empirum database. Both the configuration files which are created from the database and are written into the User folder on the Empirum server, and the output files of the Inventory Scanner are in XML format. INI files can still be imported, so that existing configurations do not have to be created again in this format.
Volume Activation license keyes cannot be displayed on the client when such license keys are detected. In this case, the license key will not be stored on the client, and the inventory scanner cannot not read and display it accordingly.
Inventory detects and stores user-specific software. When a user and his profile is removed from the computer, the inventory entries for his user-specific software are also deleted. The reconciliation requires read access to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList registry key.
