This document describes the Matrix42 Driver Extraction Package, its requirements and gives instructions on how to use the tool.
Requirements
- The minimum requirement is the use of the operating systems Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, the Power Shell version 4.0 is included and the Power Shell module Dism is included.
- For older operating systems, the Windows Management Framework 4.0 and Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) must be installed manually. For more information, please refer to Microsoft's Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) platform page.
- 5 GB free disk space on the system partition. This space is used to export the drivers and create a driver archive. 5 GB should be sufficient for this. However, the requirement varies depending on the number of drivers required by the computer.
Limitations
- The Matrix42 Driver Extraction Package has been created for the use of Win PE based OS Deployment. The created driver archives and Json files can be imported using the Matrix42 Win PE Driver Assistant. With Win PE based OS Deployment the driver archives are thus considered when using the Pre OS package Driver Integration.
