User-defined pricing for services
Table of Contents
User-defined (Custom or Non-standard) pricing configuration allows specifying service price during ordering in Self Service Portal Catalog or assigning the service in Service Catalog area. Configuration includes default service price and allowed price limits: minimum and maximum values.
When service is configured with user-defined pricing, the configured values are displayed on service preview both in Self Service Portal Catalog and Service Catalog areas.

When the service with custom pricing is being ordered, a field for service price is display. The Price field is prefilled with the configured default value and is validated against the configured minimum and maximum values. Price entered during the ordering is then used for calculations of booking and order totals.

Further Booking and Order processing is the same for services with user-defined pricing and standard pricing. The ordering price for the service order is stored in the booking and used for ongoing calculations.
Usage limitations for services with user-defined pricing
The following limitations are applied to services that are configured with user-defined pricing. Those cases are not validated by system, but violating them might lead to unexpected behavior and broken business cases.
Service that is configured to have user-defined pricing is not allowed to:
- have custom price configured on catalog level;
- be a part of a combined service (bundle, group or set);
- be used as additional service (a service for installation, uninstallation or repair).
