Overview

The Self Service Portal offers a redesigned landing page that gives end users faster access to the information, services, and actions most relevant to them. It is built on the Matrix42 Reporting Toolkit, replacing the legacy widget framework with a reusable, configurable layout foundation.

The new landing page is an alternative landing experience and is not enabled automatically for existing customers.

The "For Me" Experience

Unlike the static landing page, the new experience introduces a dynamic For Me section that displays personalized cards based on events, activities, and information relevant specifically to the logged-in user. Each card represents one item, such as a ticket update, an IT announcement, or an approval request, and provides contextual information and relevant actions so employees can respond directly without navigating through multiple applications.

The landing page integrates with Neo Agentic Assistant, letting employees ask questions, receive explanations, and get assistance in the context of their individual activities, directly from the landing page.

Supported Personalized Card Types

The initial experience supports the following types of user-specific information:

Card Type Description
IT Announcement Important IT announcements, planned maintenance, and organizational communications.
Ticket Update Updates about the employee's tickets, including progress, resolution, or requests for additional information.
AI Device Insight Neo-generated insights about potential issues affecting the employee's assigned devices.
Service / Order Delivered Notifications that a requested service or device has been delivered, potentially requiring confirmation.
Request Approval Required Requests awaiting the employee's approval, with relevant actions.
Major Incident Information about Major Incidents affecting the employee, including current status and impact.
Order / Request Status Update Progress updates about service requests and orders, such as provisioning or shipment status.

Administration and Configuration

Administrators can configure the landing page and its supported widgets. User personalization is supported where provided by the Reporting Toolkit, and the page respects the active theme.

Adding or changing Card can be done Administration→Layouts→Widgets

Card needs to be marked as Adaptive Card = True. In this case, it will be not offered in Reporting toolkit when adding new widgets, but can be used only in Adaptive Cards

Created Widget needs to be also registered and configured in Administration→Schema→Data Defintions by editing “Widget Adaptive Card Type”

It is possible to configure next properties for each Card Type:
Display String: Name of Card - for administrative view only
Object Type: name of Configuration Item or Data Definition to show Records from.
Widget Adaptive Card: ID of Widget
Update Date Expression: (ASQL) Date field based on Object Type for record, to identify sorting conditions for records that will be shown in Adapative cards
ASQL Filter : Filter for records based at Object Type for current user.
E.g. [Initiator] = CURRENTUSERID() And T(SPSActivityClassIncident).MajorIncident = 0 And DATEDIFF(day, LastChangeDate, GETDATE()) <= 60
Hidden: it is possible to mark entry as Hidden to deactive it from Adaptive cards without removal

Activation and Rollout

To support gradual adoption, administrators can control how the new landing page is introduced to employees. The configuration is available under Administration > Intelligence > Self Service Portal Home, with three activation modes:

  • Off (default): all employees continue using the existing Self-Service Portal landing page. The new experience is not advertised.
  • Available: employees continue using the existing landing page but see a "Try the new home" button in the top-right corner. They can switch to the new Personalized Proactive Landing Page and return to the standard experience at any time using "Back to the classic home." The portal remembers their preference.
  • Everyone: the new Personalized Proactive Landing Page becomes the default experience for all employees. The previous landing page is hidden, and switching back is disabled.

Availability and Prerequisites

  • The Personalized Proactive Landing Page is available exclusively to customers with an active Neo subscription.
  • The AI Intelligence Foundation extension must be installed to enable the new landing page.
  • Existing customers retain their current Self-Service Portal landing page by default; the new experience is not enabled automatically.

This capability is built on the Matrix42 Reporting Toolkit, the same foundation referenced in the Default Layout section above, providing a configurable and extensible basis for presenting personalized information.
