New Features

Access Dialog:

  • To activate this feature, go to portal.fastviewer.com, at Secure Advisor → Security → Access dialog enabled.
  • When the feature is enabled, a dialog message is displayed during sessions, indicating the Username currently remotely controlling the system. The Access Dialog box features Minimize and Cancel buttons.
  • If the portal setting Activate Lock-Key on remote client is enabled under Secure Advisor → Security, the Access Dialog also displays the configured key used to stop remote control.
You can configure this key at General → Security → Key for Stopping the Remote Control.
  • This feature behaves similarly to the Access Dialog shown when accessing an Agent via the M42 FastViewer WebConsole or the M42 FastViewer Remote Extension.

Improvements

  • Increased the maximum memory allocation to prevent potential memory allocation issues for customers using very high screen resolutions.
  • Improved compatibility for FastRemoteService.exe on Microsoft Windows Server 2025 systems.
  • Improved Codec 2 connection timeout handling to address specific scenarios where establishing a connection could take unnecessarily long.

Additional Information

  • For improved compatibility across modern Windows operating systems, the Taskbar and Desktop can no longer be hidden.

Bugs Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where the FastViewer start screen could appear slightly cut off at the bottom.
  • In specific cases, mouse and keyboard latency issues were reported when remotely controlling recent Windows 11 versions. This issue has been resolved.
  • Fixed an issue where a *.dll file was missing a digital signature.
  • Accessing a Windows PC via WebConsole while closing the laptop lid (with the device still active) could cause connection problems. This behavior no longer occurs.
  • Additional bug fixes and improvements.

Known Issues

  • There are functional limitations when using the Application Filter with Windows Apps and Virtual Desktops in Windows 11.
