The assignment group Service Management shows which software has been assigned via Empirum and which one via Matrix42 Service Management. If, for instance, software such as Irfanview or 7-Zip is "shopped" via Matrix42 Service Management, it is displayed in the Single Assignments group. This new functionality provides the following benefits:
- Transparency – it is clear which software has been assigned via Empirum and which one through Matrix42 Service Management.
- Automatic clean-up – the system cleans itself once all software has been returned.
If you want to use specific distribution options (for instance, allow several postpones) for software package installation, you can set them on the assignment group Service Management/Single Assignments. To do so, you need the EMP_M_SUPERADMIN permission.
If software is requested, approved and assigned in Matrix42 Service Management, it will be displayed in the new service management structure Domain/Computername or Domain/OrgUnit/Computername; OrgUnit (organizational unit) is the Empirum variable ORGANIZATIONAL_UNIT.
When a user shops for the first time, the groups will be created and removed again when the last software has been returned and uninstalled.
