This article contains improvements to FastViewer components and infrastructure, organized by component and the release date of the changes.

Portal.fastviewer.com

New feature: Disable Tray Icon
- This new setting is available at Secure Advisor → Security → Disable Tray Icon.
- When a Remote Agent is installed with this setting enabled, no tray icon will be displayed in the taskbar.
- The tray application can still be launched manually if required (e.g., to access the context menu): C:\Program Files (x86)\fastviewer Remoted Service\FastTray.exe.
- This setting is supported since 30.03.2026 for Agent versions 3.31.0009 and newer.

Improvement: Streamlined Password Change Process: Services responsible for generating license-related emails have been consolidated into a single, centralized component.
The behavior of the input fields AD-User-Lock: Username and AD-User-Lock: Password (located under Settings → General → Security) has been changed to reduce the likelihood of unintended behavior caused by password manager autofill functions.

Fixed an issue where the Remote Setup (MSI) uninstaller did not function correctly for customers with specific security policies.
This affects versions 3.31.0001 and higher.

Caching improvements: Repeated downloads from portal.fastviewer.com are now delivered faster once they have been generated and cached.
If any portal profile settings are modified, the cache is cleared, and the initial download will be regenerated.
Affected files:
- Master and Client modules (including CEF and software distribution packages)
- Remote Agent Setups (including software distribution packages)

Improvement: Performance improvements for the download procedure.
Bug fixes (affect portal.fastviewer.com):
- Fixed an issue where, in specific scenarios, a downloaded multi-configuration profile did not load the correct server farm configuration.
- FastProxy with OnPremise: Fixed an issue where, in setups with a remoted agent using FastProxy, the connection string for on-premise servers was missing the protocol, but was still written to the settingsproxy.xml.

Updating the server list via the ServerAdmin application now also clears the download cache, ensuring that newly generated downloads include the updated configuration.

Fixed an issue in the DownloadAPI where the moduleconfig.xml within Remote Setups could contain a restricted server list entry.

Performance Improvement: Enhanced the performance of the DownloadService and Resource Generator.
Stability Improvement: Improved the reliability and overall robustness of the DownloadService and Resource Generator.
Impact: Changes apply to portal.fastviewer.com, the M42 FastViewer WebConsole, the FastViewer Extension for ESMP, and associated APIs.

Caching improvements: Repeated Agent downloads are now delivered faster once they have been generated and cached.
