The employees responsible for the Software distribution often do not know exactly which software depends on another software. This is why errors are only recognized if error messages are returned from the client (Requirement Error). In order to prevent that, a check during the activation will inform the console user, whether the configuration group is consistent. The base is represented by the information regarding dependencies in each package and/or class.
The menu item Software Dependencies can be found in the following context menus of the Administration tab:
- Right-click on a package
- Right-click on a configuration group
- On the summary side in the Activate Wizard
If a dependency is defined for a software package, it means either that the depending package must already be installed on the computer, or must NOT be installed, before the package to which this dependency was assigned can be installed.
