The Empirum Agent - ERIS (Empirum Remote Installation Service) - is the frontend that performs all tasks of the Matrix42 Management Console on the client, i.e., installation, uninstallation, reinstallation tasks and queries (e.g., push).
Once the new Empirum Agent has been configured completely (configuration group assigned, Variables filled, template configured) and the Agent has been installed on the client via Push, the
icon of the new agent is displayed in the system tray.
A grey tray icon is displayed to the user to notify him that the agent is not able to establish a connection to a depot server or that Windows has not yet performed any pending reboot. In both cases, software installation is not continued. A tool tip provides information on the reason for such interruption.
As a prerequisite the tray icon display must have been enabled in the Agent template.
If you right-click the system tray icon, the following context menu will be displayed:

Click Show software Depot to view the software depot, which lists all packages that can be accessed by the logged-in user with read rights for the respective Setup.inf file.

Use the File menu and the button down to the right to close the window.
The Language menu allows you to switch between German and English directly without a restart. If the dialog is started again, the language that was displayed before it was closed will be displayed.
Software packages that have been activated to be included in the automatic distribution process are displayed in the user query (Z dialog).

Again, there are various display options:
- If now query is made, installation is always performed immediately. This dialog is only used to show which packages are installed.
- The user is always asked if an installation shall be performed now.
- The user is not asked during the first log in, but always afterwards.
The two latter options also allow you to define whether after a specified interval the installation shall be delayed (the number of potential postponements are counted down) or whether the respective software shall be installed directly.
A reboot dialog is displayed if a reboot needs to be performed after a software installation. The time between reminders and the time until a forced reboot is performed is configured in the Empirum Agent template.

Command line parameter
ERIS_UI.exe [/P /HIDE]
- /P. Checking for newly authorized software independently of the configured polling interval
- /HIDE. Start without the screen of the software depot
Improved support assistance through advanced user information
When the user selects Info About... from the agent, he receives the information on which depot server, at what time, and via which protocol the last successful connection was made. In addition, the user has the possibility to save all relevant logs as a zip file to the desktop.
This makes it easier for the end user to be able to provide helpful information or to transmit logs.
Computername.ini, DDC and DDS files can only be retrieved if the user has administrative rights.
(In this case the local security policy User Account Control: Turn on Admin Approval Mode has to be inactive.)
