SNMP Mappings are based on defined SNMP Rules used to read out or assign source values; if a device is detected, these values are written into Empirum Inventory.

DD_SNMP_Mapping_Typ_ENU

  • SNMP Rule. The SNMP Rule displayed in this group field is the basis for the SNMP mapping.
    • Type. Specifies the device type.
    • Vendor. Specifies the vendor of a created network device.
    • Model. Specifies the model of a created vendor.

The values for type, vendor and model are grayed out for SNMP mappings, since they reflect the SNMP Rule, which is based on the SNMP mapping.

  • Source. Here you can specify the sources that are written into the table and field of Inventory as destination. The source may be assigned dynamically via OID or may be a static fixed value.
    • OID. Specifies the OID (Object Identifier) whose value shall be read out. The DD_MIB_Browser_Icon button can be used to launch the MIB Browser, which helps you to search for possible OIDs.
    • Value. Specifies the fixed value that shall be written into the inventory assignment as destination.
  • Destination. Through the Destination group field, you have access to the complete Empirum Inventory database.
    • Table. Specifies the tables from Empirum Inventory.
    • Field. Specifies the fields of the respective tables from Empirum Inventory.
