The Empirum-Inventory service reads the files saved under Directory of data files, which have been created via the Matrix42 Inventory and writes the Inventory configuration files under Directory of configuration files.

  • Directory of Data Files
Serves to specifying the folder, in which the files created by the Matrix42 Inventory are to be saved.
You can select directly the corresponding folder in the folder structure via the icon Empi0013.
  • Directory of Configuration Files
Serves to specifying the folder, in which the Inventory configuration files which manage the behavior of the Inventory-Scanner are saved.
You can select directly the corresponding folder in the folder structure via the icon Empi0013.
  • Polling Interval
Serves to specifying the time interval (in seconds) between the checks of the Empirum-Inventory service.
  • Delete incomplete scanfiles after <number of days> days.
Here you can define, after how many days the Inventory Service will automatically move files, which have not been processed, into the directory <Directory of datafiles>\Error.
If the value is set to 0, then the files will be moved to the Error directory at the next polling interval of the Inventory Service.
The following cases are examples for when the Inventory Service does not process files:
    • Inventory files (.xml, .gz), for which the corresponding files, which should be stored in the database (.file, .gzfile), are not available.
    • Files, which are to be stored in the database (.file, .gzfile), for which the corresponding Inventory files are not available.
    • Other error files, which cannot be read by the Inventory Service.
  • Eventlog Properties
You can specify here, which events are to be written into the application log of the eventlog under Windows NT/2000/2003 Server.
    • Start/Stop Events: Messages regarding the start and stop of the Matrix42 service are recorded.
    • Inventory Events: Special messages of the Matrix42 service are recorded.
  • Merge Inventory - Computer
Serves to configuring the merging of computer properties into the Hardware configuration tab (MAC-Address, Domain/Workgroup, IP-Configuration).
    • For new Computers only
Changes in the tab Hardware Configuration take place only for computers which do not exist in the database.
    • Always
Changes in the tab Hardware Configuration take place for each change after the inventory.
    • Never
Changes in the tab Hardware Configuration take place manually.

Only valid, when computers are already created in Matrix42 before the inventory starts.

  • Installation Log On
Allows you to specify credentials, which must then be made in the Installation Log On tab.
  • Service Log On
Allows the specification of a service user account, which must then be made in the Service Log On. The service is then started via this user account.
