The Empirum-Activation Service
The Depot Helper Service is also installed with the Activation Service. More information about this service can be found here.
The Empirum-Activation service reads settings for activating computers, users and software packages from the database and writes them into the *.ddc, *.dds, OS.ini- <Username>.ini or <Computername>.ini file.
- Variables Root Directory
Serves to specify the directory where the following files are stored:
- <Username>.ddc
- <Computername>.ddc
- <Username>.ini
- <Computername>.ini
A Variables.ini file is created in case package variables have been created or imported into Matrix42 Management.
- Checking Interval
Serves to specify the time interval (in seconds) between checks of the Empirum-Activation service.
- Events Settings
Allows you to specify the events to be written into the application log of the event log under Windows.
- Start/Stop Event
Records messages about starting and stopping the Empirum-Activation service.
- Number of Tokens
Defines the number of installations (Legacy Agent) or Downloads (Advanced Agent) possible at the same time. If 20 is set, for instance, 20 installations can be made simultaneously.
This parameter is enabled under the Configuration > Depot tab > Edit > Properties... > TokenPathName. It is active if the TokenPathName option has been checked. Specify the path, for instance Directory\Tokens relative to the depot directory.
- Do not overwrite back-end task log
If this option is enabled then the back-end task log entries will not be overwritten.
- Write Quick-Sync files
If this option is disabled (no Depot-Sync with Quick-Sync templates is active) then no files (INI, DDC) will be created in the directory Empirum\Configurator\Values\Temp.
- Only use UEM Depot Sync (>=2.0)
From version 2.0 of the UEM Depot Sync, subdirectories for the depot servers are no longer required on the Empirum Master Server.
If this option is activated, no more depot server directories are created. Existing directories are removed.
Reactivating the option allows these files to be created again by reactivating the computers. This should be used with caution, as reactivation can take a very long time!
- Installation Log On
Allows you to specify credentials, which must then be made in the Installation Log On tab.
- Service Log On
Allows the specification of a service user account, which must then be made in the Service Log On. The service is then started via this user account.
