This chapter explains how to create an offline CD:

1. Select the menu Tools > Create Offline CD or click the toolbar icon.
   The Offline CDCreation dialog box appears.
   
2. Under Target directory, specify the directory where the data for the offline CD is to be stored.
3. Click the symbol to enter a CD profile and specify a name.
   • Target directory: Directory were the data (Software packages, SwDepot.exe, DDC-files, DDS-files, variable files) of the Offline CD is stored for burning.
     

     After the installation of the Offline CD in the chosen directory and before burning the CD/DVD, you will need to adjust the following entries in the file SwDepot.dds:

       LogFileName=\\%EmpirumServer%\Configurator$\Log\SwDepot_%DomainName%_%ComputerName%_%SysDate%_%LongSysTime%.log
       ClientSetupErrorLog=\\%EmpirumServer%\Configurator$\Log\SetupErrorLog\%%DomainName%%.%%ComputerName%%.%%SysDate%%_%%ExactSysTime%%.log
       change each to
       LogFileName=%Temp%\Empirum\Log\SwDepot_%DomainName%_%ComputerName%_%SysDate%_%LongSysTime%.log
       ClientSetupErrorLog=%Temp%\Empirum\Log\SetupErrorLog\%%DomainName%%.%%ComputerName%%.%%SysDate%%_%%ExactSysTime%%.log
       The entry "TokenPathName=%Directory%\Tokens" (relative to the parent directory) needs to be deleted, if existing.
     • [Environment]
       LogDirectory=%Directory%\Log (relative to the parent directory) change to LogDirectory=%Temp%\Empirum\Log
       Also you need to copy the file Autorun.inf into the Root directory (you will find the root directory under the entered profile name) of the Offline CD with the following contents:
       • Entry to start the Software Depot:
         [Autorun]
         Open=User\SwDepot.exe
         Icon=User\SwDepot.exe
       • Entry to distribute all packages from the CD/DVD automatically:
         [Autorun]
         Open=User\SwDepot.exe /I /S /E
         Icon=User\SwDepot.exe
         If all packages from CD/DVD should be installed directly, you will need to adjust the file SwDepot.ddc too. If all packages should be installed every time when inserting the CD/DVD, you will need to add the flag FORCE.
       • [Distribution]
         *, *, *, *, *, INSTALL UPDATE
         or
         *, *, *, *, *, INSTALL UPDATE FORCE
   • Add a software package: Adds the selected package from the left side to the selected profil on the right side.
   • Add Profile: Creates a new profile under CD Profiles. For this profil you can specify a name.
   • Remove Softwarepackage / Profile: Removes the marked software package or the marked profile from the right window.
   • Offline CD creation: Creates the Offline CD in the directory specified under Target directory.
4. On the left-hand page, the available software packages are displayed. You can assign the desired software packages per drag & drop to the corresponding CD profile.
   

   If you want to start the installation of the software packages automatically from an offline CD, the DDS and DDC files have to be included.

5. Right-click the CD profile which is to start automatically from CD.
   The Profile Properties dialog box appears.
   
6. Select Include DDS file and Include DDC file(s) and confirm your settings with OK.
   • Profile name: Specifies the name of the selected CD profile.
   • SWDepot / Setup: The SwDepot.exe and the Setup.exe are included in the profile.
   • Include DDS file: The DDS file is included in the CD profile.
   • Include DDC file(s): The DDC file(s) is/are included in the CD profile.
   • Include all files with variables: The variable file(s) is/are included in the CD profile.
7. Click on the button Offline CD creation.
   The files are stored under the appropriate profile and the installation of the software packages can be started directly from the offline CD.
8. Confirm your settings with OK.
