There are no more software groups in Empirum v14. They have been replaced by the new assignment concept with Configuration and Assignment Groups and are migrated into standard assignment groups during the update.

Update from Empirum v12 R2 to Empirum v14:

  • The system migrates all software groups into standard assignment groups.
  • A subordinated assignment group named Software Groups is created under Assignment Groups.
  • All former software groups are inserted into this assignment group.
  • Each software group forms an assignment group with the name of the respective software group.
  • The respective software package is assigned to the new assignment group.
  • All computers that are currently assigned to the software group are inserted into the new assignment group, including their current activation state.
  • The distribution commands are transferred.
  • Group rights are transferred based on the software group rights. All rights that are not granted with software groups are based on whether the user has the right to add or delete systems. If such right exists, all other options except for those set specifically for the software group are also set.
  • If an active filter relates to a software group it must be changed to address the new assignment group.
