Adding the software package has changed the color of the Computer PC100 and the user BSchmidt to brown, which signals that a change has occurred within the configuration group. When the configuration group is enabled again, the color changes from brown to black.

Assigning Software to a Computer

  2. Drag and drop the software package onto the computer.

A subgroup is created with the name of the computer and the 3 special groups (if activated). The computer and the software package are assigned to the new group Computer Name. If the special group Software Packages is activated, the software package will be assigned to this group.

Example:

The software package Helios Textpad is assigned to the computer PC101. In this example, the special groups are hidden.

Assigning Software to a Filter

  1. Select the software package you want to assign to a filter.
  2. Drag and drop the software package onto the filter.

The software package will be assigned to all computers in this filter.

If the computer is the only computer in an existing group, the software is assigned to this group. If the computer has not yet been assigned to a group, the computer and the software will be assigned to the new group FilterName. If the computer belongs to a group containing several computers, the new subgroup ComputerName will be created for this computer. Afterwards, the computer and the software will be assigned to this group. If the special groups are activated, the computers and the software are assigned to these special groups within the groups mentioned above.

Example:

The software package Helios Textpad is added to the filter Computername. In this example, the special groups are hidden.
