Writes/updates PXE boot images, index files, and disk and operating system configurations from the database to the storage medium. Download of the index files and drivers from the Matrix42 FTP server or other sources to the local storage medium. Serves to specify the sources from which the drivers are to be downloaded in the Empirum OS Installer.
When downloading the drivers for the first time, it is recommended to select the CD-ROM as data source due to the large data volume. To do this, store the data of the CD-ROM on the Empirum Server.

Settings for the Empirum FTP Client
The client can work in the active or passive data transfer mode. In the auto mode, both active and passive data transfer are tested. The last successful transfer mode is saved and used again the next time. If no transfer connection can be established, the system switches to another transfer mode and a new attempt is made to transfer the data.
You can set the values in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\matrix42\Central\Misc\EisFTP.
Reg keys are only created during the first driver synchronization after the hot fix has been installed.
FTP Direct:
| ModeFtpActive 0/1 | 0 No TP active mode |
| 1 Use the FTP Active Mode | |
| ModeFtpPassive 0/1 | 0 No FTP Passive Mode |
| 1 Use the FTP Passive Mode |
If both modes are set to 1 or both modes are set to 0, both the passive and the active mode are tested.
- PortMin 32900 default min. port for data transfer in the active mode
- PortMax 34900 default max. port for data transfer in the active mode
FTP Proxy:
The following modes are supported in the FTP Proxy:
CONNECT: Connection is established directly through the proxy server. Data exchange is performed via specific ports. Advantage: fast; disadvantage: additional ports
GET: Connection is set up via an http connection. Data are fetched from the Empirum server with GET, similar to an http file. Advantage: no additional ports; disadvantage: slow
SOCKS: Data exchange is done via the FTP proxy server in the Socks3/4 protocol.
Flags in the registry:
| ModeProxyCONNECT 0/1 | 0 Do not use the CONNECT transfer method |
| 1 Use the CONNECT transfer method | |
| ModeProxyGET 0/1 | 0 Do not use the GET transfer method |
| 1 Use the GET transfer method | |
| ModeProxySOCKS 0/1 | 0 Do not use the SOCKS3/4 transfer method |
| 1 Use the SOCKS3/4 transfer method |
If several methods are set to 1, a check is performed to determine if they are connected.
Squid is an http proxy server that also supports the CONNECT method. To do so, please modify Squid as follows in the squid.conf file:
# access to matrix42 (drvcomm.matrix42.de)
Acl matrix42_ports port 21 39000-39200 # Matrix42 Ports
Acl access_to_matrix42 dst drvcomm.matrix42.de # Matrix42 Server
…
# allow CONNECT to Matrix42 GmbH
http_access allow CONNECT matrix42_ports access_to_matrix42
# deny CONNECT to other than SSL ports
Security:
Support is provided for SSL 3.0 and Auth TLS 1.0 in FTP Direct and FTP Proxy.
| SecureSSL 0/1 | 0 No SSL 3.0 encryption |
| 1 Use SSL 3.0 encryption | |
| SecureTLS 0/1 | 0 No TLS 1.0 encryption |
| 1 Use TLS 1.0 encryption |
If both options are set to 1, encryption is negotiated with the server.
