This option can be used to reinstall an installed software package, for instance, if files that are required for this program have been deleted by mistake or are corrupt.
Reinstallation can be done by selecting the respective computer or the respective software package.
Go to Management > Administration and select the Computer(s) within a configuration or the respective Software Package for reinstallation.
Reinstallations without previous uninstallation correspond to an enforced installation and are performed without respective prompts.
Reinstallations with previous uninstallation are displayed in the user's prompt window.
Any uninstallation is displayed in the SwDepot log (Uninstall: Installation Pending and then Reinstall: Success)
Any required reboot is performed after the uninstallation and displayed in the SwDepot log with respective Reboot Pending messages. Please note that in some cases two restarts are performed (after uninstallation and after installation).
Packages that have been assigned the Do not install additional packages option, will stop the uninstallation process, if several packages have been assigned for reinstallation with previous uninstallation and are processes during the next agent polling.
