Unmanaged devices can be integrated into the Empirum database:

• Manually via the Empirum interface
• By importing an external file

This is how you add a new unmanaged device:

1. Select menu File > New Device..., or right-click Miscellaneous Devices, one of the filters (e.g. All devices) or an already added device, and select New Device... in the context menu.
   You get to the dialog New Device…
   
2. Enter the corresponding Parameters for the device to be added, and confirm your entries with OK.
   • Identity: 
     • Type. Specifies the device category (e.g. Beamer). New device types can be added via the menu Extras > Settings > Unmanaged Devices (see Creating a New Device Type).
     • Name. This is the freely choosable name of the device, which is to be displayed in the Empirum interface.
     • Inventory ID. This is a freely choosable character sequence for company identification.
     • Location. The location of the device can be entered here. 
     • Room No. The room number of the device can be entered here. 
     • Department. The department where the device is located can be entered here. 
     • Contact Person. The contact person for the device can be entered here.
