Several tasks in Empirum are now executed via PowerShell or other APIs on various third-party systems such as XenDesktop or a hypervisor. If this option is enabled, the user can view which tasks are in the queue or have already been executed; this monitoring process can also be used for trouble-shooting purposes.

  • Back end activation task queue: This tab displays all actions that are performed on a third-party system.

Starting with version Matrix42 Workplace Management 2013 a cyclic job will be displayed permanently, which monitors and initiates scheduled jobs.

  • Back end task log: This tab displays all completed actions which have been performed on a third-party system.

The Result tab provides the following options:

  • Success: An action has been executed successfully.
  • Warning: There might be a discrepancy between the action to be executed and the current system state. This does, however, not mean that a check needs to be performed by the administrator.
The following examples show warnings where no check needs to be performed by the administrator.
    • A virtual desktop pool is activated, although the machines exist already.
    • Machines are activated, but do not have a snapshot.
  • Failure: An error has occurred while an action has been executed. The system administrator must perform a diagnosis.
